Come and have a look!

Hi, what a busy few weeks it has been here at Little Earth.  We have been getting everything ready for the big Ofsted registration, but more importantly for the little ones that will be joining us in the summer term.

IMG_1643IMG_1649We have come a long way since I had the idea of creating Little Earth a few months ago. The garden is taking shape, the mud kitchen is in place and the vegetable patches are nearly ready.

My own three children, Tom, Lily and Amelia have had fun being used as guinea pigs to test out the different play areas.  It is safe to say they love the ‘water play’ area, I never knew you could have so many different types of tropical fish in one garden aquarium. Their imagination was amazing!

IMG_1650The fire circle has been created,  it will be the focal point for discussing the day’s activities and a place for socialising here at Little Earth.

I had a practise fire with my three children. They sourced all the twigs and laid them in a tipi shape.  They then lit the fire using a fire splint. My husband was rather impressed by what I had learnt on my Level 3 Forest School course!

The toasted marshmallows were definitely the highlight!

Well, until the next update, please do get in touch if you have any questions or queries.  Fingers crossed Ofsted will have been out to register Little Earth the next time I write.  I am so excited about getting past the paperwork and being given the all clear to open in April 2016.  I can then look forward to the first day with the children, getting to know them all and having fun… oh and getting muddy!!!!!!
